| Researchers at the Technion Institute of Technology in the northern Israel port city of Haifa have developed a drug that slows the progression of Parkinson’s Disease.
Named Azilect, the drug is the first ever that has proven successful in combatting the onset of and the debilitative symptoms of Parkinson’s. Israel’s Teva Pharmaceuticals, which owns the rights to Azilect, made the announcement on Monday following an 18-month trial period during which time the drug was administered to 1,176 Parkinson’s patients in 14 different countries. |
