Stem Cell Research: Morales Side-stepped?

For many people the morales run very deep when it come to stem cell research.  Stem cell research has been touted the next revolution in the medical world, many claim that it’s curing capacity runs deep through the medical world, it even possibly cure Parkinson’s.  Regardless of it’s hype it hasn’t lifted off as it possibly could because many people oppose it.  Stem cell research is opposed because it often involves growing a human embryo and then destroying it for its stem cells.  Is there a possible way around this dilemma?

Dr. Shinya Yamanaka and about 20 researchers at Kyoto University revolutionized the stem cell field  by creatingembryonic-like cells from mouse skin cells.  If that work translates into human cells, it could side-step some of the moral issues surrounding the use of embryonic stem cells in research.

Yamanka, who does research in Japan, will be moving part of his research to the Gladstone Institute of Cardiovascular Disease.  Yamanka has said it is “much easier” to work with human embryonic stem cells in California, thanks to approval in 2004 that created a $3 billion fund, support by the state sale of bonds, to fund stem cell research initiatives.
